Russian State Duma comments on detention of 34 Russian women in Ankara nightclubs
On October 23, 34 Russian citizens were detained during police raids on nightclubs in Ankara. Turkish authorities cited 'violations of morality and public security' as the reason. Deputy committee chairman Vitaly Milonov suggested the detention could be linked to the women's behavior, but allowed that if there are no grounds, the case must be investigated.
