President intends to raise cotton production in Bukhara region to 1 million tonnes within three years
On 3 November, at a meeting with residents of Bukhara region and investors, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to raise cotton production in the region to 1 million tonnes within three years — twice the previously discussed target of 500,000 tonnes. It is also planned to develop 100,000 hectares of desert land for cotton, grain and orchards. The topic was also discussed at a meeting on 4 November.
