Scientists: Unsweetened cranberry juice slows dental plaque formation
Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago found that natural cranberry juice without added sugar reduces the activity of acid-producing bacteria and slows plaque formation. The effect is linked to proanthocyanidins. The authors emphasize that further research is needed due to the small sample size and short observation period.
