Cornwall hospital employee told patient about cancer before doctor's visit, breaching data protection
Pippa Boardman, a resident of Cornwall, learned about her cancer from an acquaintance working at Royal Cornwall Hospital, who accessed her medical records two days before her consultation. The hospital apologised only after the BBC got in touch and conducted an investigation. The incident occurred against the backdrop of other recent NHS data breaches.
