UAE bans veterinary use of antibiotic ciprofloxacin from November 1 to combat drug resistance
The UAE regulator Emirates Drug Establishment banned veterinary use of ciprofloxacin — a fluoroquinolone-class antibiotic critically important for medicine — from November 1. The ban covers nine products, including eight imported and one locally registered. Companies must stop production, import and supply, withdraw remaining stock from the market and confirm compliance with the measures.
