Oxford Street in London closed to traffic: the street became pedestrianised on 26 October
From 26 October, almost a kilometre of Oxford Street — from Orchard Street to Great Portland Street — is closed to cars, buses and bicycles. This is the first step in a large-scale renewal of the famous shopping street, which receives about half a million visitors daily.
