7.6 tonnes of cocaine seized at the port of Cartagena in Colombia — the shipment was bound for the Netherlands
Colombian police, with DEA assistance, seized 7.6 tonnes of cocaine hidden in panela cane sugar at the port of Cartagena. President Abelardo de la Espriella called the operation the largest cocaine seizure at the port in 10 years. According to authorities, the shipment would have been worth more than $200 million in the Netherlands; separately, the arrest of two Dutch nationals is reported.
