Bundesbank: Germany's economy stalled, September inflation hit highest since late 2023
According to the Bundesbank, Germany's economy likely did not grow in the third quarter due to rising energy prices, low water levels in the Rhine and weakness in the automotive sector. Annual harmonized inflation accelerated in September to 3.3% from 2.9% in August — the highest since late 2023. The bank expects elevated inflation to persist.
