The collapse of Ueno Bank in Paraguay: frozen accounts, protests, and impeachment against President Peña
On November 3, Paraguay's Ueno Bank stopped displaying the accounts of nearly three million clients, and the Central Bank began its liquidation due to solvency falling below 50%. The bank held about 850 million dollars in state funds, including pension funds. The opposition initiated impeachment proceedings against President Santiago Peña, and eight top managers of the bank were detained.
