EU activates information-sharing mechanism after bomb threats on board at least 22 flights
Over four days, from 2 to 5 November, at least 22 passenger flights in Europe received bomb threat messages, leading to emergency landings, aircraft diversions and security checks at airports in several countries. EU Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas called the threats against civilians unacceptable and announced the activation of the aviation security information-sharing mechanism.
