Rivian acquires British startup Third Dimension to accelerate autopilot development
American electric vehicle maker Rivian has acquired the British startup Third Dimension, whose technology turns images and videos into realistic 3D worlds. The deal is expected to accelerate the development of driver-assistance systems and a driverless robotaxi for Uber, which Rivian plans to deliver by 2028.
