Artyom Chekalin asked for a suspended sentence in his final statement, citing LERCEK's condition

Blogger Artyom Chekalin said in his final statement in court that his ex-wife Valeria Chekalina (LERCEK) has barely gotten out of bed for the past month and a half, and asked for a suspended sentence so he could care for their three children. He called the seven years of imprisonment and a fine of 194 million rubles excessive, saying he had compensated the damage and paid the state about 900 million rubles over three years. The court upheld the verdict.
