11-year-old Egyptian girl wins the Arab Reading Challenge grand prize — 500,000 dirhams
The 2026 season winner was 11-year-old Mayar Mohammed from Egypt, who read more than 60 books. Over 40.2 million students from 60 countries took part in the competition — 24% more than a year earlier. Awards also went to representatives of Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Tunisia, Syria, and New Zealand.
