On 21 October 2026, Germany's Federal Court of Justice overturned the refusal of the president of the Hamburg Regional Court to serve Alisher Usmanov's lawsuit documents on the EU Council. The ruling removes an obstacle to proceedings seeking to ban the dissemination of the statements the European Union used to justify sanctions.
