Plant Opening in Karshi

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the FM World agricultural machinery plant in Karshi, the presidential press service reported. The enterprise is part of the Chinese corporation Jiangsu World Group, which, according to the press service, is among the 500 largest private companies in China. The volume of foreign investment in the project amounted to $20 million.

Production and Technology

The plant occupies a territory of 5 hectares, with production buildings totaling 12 thousand square meters. The project created 200 jobs, and part of the processes is automated. The enterprise currently assembles five tractor models, cotton-picking machines, and other agricultural equipment under the Nasaf brand. The tractors are equipped with GPS navigation and autopilot, as well as remote monitoring and fertilizer application systems; according to the manufacturer, this ensures high precision of field work while reducing fuel consumption.

Localization and Plans

The localization level in tractor assembly is 30% — the plant produces 138 types of parts and components. The enterprise also provides training in machine maintenance, early fault detection, and safe operation. The importance of expanding localization through in-house production of components and cooperation with local suppliers was noted. The plant plans to supply 30% of its products to neighboring countries and increase exports to $50 million.

President's Statement

“Until now, we have been importing agricultural machinery from abroad, which affected production costs. Producing modern equipment under our own brand in Kashkadarya, easing the labor of our farmers, was once only a dream. Localization is a logical continuation of our reforms in agriculture. We will consistently continue this work,” noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
