Appeal against refusal of postponement
Yanina Kopaygorodskaya's elder son turned to the appellate instance of the Moscow City Court, seeking a review of the decision under which his mother did not receive a postponement of serving her nine-year sentence. Her lawyer Elizaveta Metkina told TASS about this. According to her, the son intends to protect the interests of three underage brothers and sisters.
The parties' positions on guardianship
After the verdict, guardianship of the family's three younger children was taken by David Davlatov. The Meshchansky Court of Moscow refused to postpone the punishment under Article 82 of the Criminal Code, citing, among other things, the fact that the minors are already under guardianship. In the appeal, the elder son stated that he cannot replace both parents for the children.
