Attack on St. Petersburg and Leningrad region

Overnight into Sunday, Ukrainian drones attacked St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said on Telegram that one person was killed and five wounded in the city, and that during the 'massive' attack the Ruchyi oil terminal and industrial warehouses caught fire; 12 apartment buildings and two private houses were damaged. According to euronews, local authorities spoke of 15 wounded in the region, while Anadolu's aggregated tally reported 21 wounded across both countries. Russian media called the attack one of the largest against the region since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Ozon, VK and infrastructure

A fire broke out at an Ozon logistics facility: staff were evacuated, the company reported no casualties on site, and traffic on several roads was closed. VK reported an attack on its data center in the Leningrad region but said its services were operating normally. Leningrad region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said four people were hospitalized, drone debris fell on a house in Gatchina, 55 cars were damaged in Novoselye, and emergency blackouts left 50 apartment buildings without power — about 20,000 people; according to him, 144 drones were shot down over the region. Pulkovo airport did not handle flights for more than seven hours — restrictions were lifted by Rosaviatsia at 10:00 Moscow time.

Statements by Russia's Defense Ministry

Russia's Defense Ministry said air defenses destroyed 1,015 Ukrainian drones over the country's territory, Crimea annexed in 2014, and the Black Sea. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported 512 drones heading toward the Moscow region, most of which were shot down on approach.

Strikes on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said two people were killed and 12 wounded in Russian strikes on residential buildings. According to him, substations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa regions were hit overnight, leaving tens of thousands of families without power. He also said that over the past week Russia used nearly 2,700 strike drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 66 missiles, mostly ballistic, and that since US President Donald Trump announced an energy truce, Moscow has attacked Ukraine's energy, oil and gas sectors 76 times. 'America must see that Russia is not taking any reciprocal steps in response to sanctions relief or agreements,' Anadolu quoted him as saying.

Targets of Russian strikes according to the Defense Ministry

Russia's Defense Ministry said strikes targeted Ukrainian logistics centers, ports and vessels 'used to support the Ukrainian armed forces': according to the ministry, a Nova Poshta logistics center in Rivne was hit, where, it claimed, dual-use goods including drone components were stored, as well as a cargo ship with military and dual-use cargo about 30 km east of the port of Odesa. Ukraine's Air Force reported shooting down or suppressing 152 Russian drones. Independent verification of the sides' claims is hampered by the ongoing war.
