A Walk Through the Old Town
Euronews published a report on a journey through Dubrovnik. The route began in the heart of the Old Town, where the author, together with the general director of the company Rewind Croatia, strolled along the cobbled streets and learned stories connected with the medieval defensive walls. The Old Town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1979. During the tour, it was explained how Dubrovnik became one of the most important trading centres of the Adriatic.
Kayaking and a Sea Trip
The author then set off with the company X-ADVENTURE Sea Kayaking Dubrovnik for kayaking along the coast, admiring the city walls from the water. According to the publication, the walls stretch for almost two kilometres and include five fortresses and 16 towers. After that came a sea trip with the company Sea Fun Dubrovnik to the island of Lopud — one of the three inhabited Elaphiti Islands off the coast of Dubrovnik. The programme also included a visit to the famous Blue Caves and swimming in the Adriatic.
Culinary Tradition and Accommodation
At the restaurant Konoba Pjatanca, the author learned how to cook traditional peka — a slow-cooked dish under a bell-shaped iron lid — and took part in the cooking herself. During the trip she stayed at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, a historic five-star hotel outside the old centre; its building dates back to 1897 and is located a few minutes' walk from the gates of the Old Town.
Zipline on Mount Srđ
The journey ended with a zipline with the company Panorama Zipline Dubrovnik on Mount Srđ. The route includes two lines, each 250 metres long. According to the author, despite her fear of heights, she took on the challenge and enjoyed the views of the city and the coast.
