  • Since early 2022, the database has collected information on more than 450 people

The producer has been added to a Ukrainian intelligence list

Music producer Iosif Prigozhin has been added to the database of the War&Sanctions portal operated by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense. RIA Novosti reported this citing data from the resource, and Life.ru published a piece referring to that report. As reasons, the Ukrainian side cited his public support for the special military operation and Russian policy.

What exactly the compilers of the dossier noted

The compilers of the entry referred to the events of 2014: back then, Prigozhin, together with other cultural figures, signed an appeal in support of President Vladimir Putin's position on Ukraine and Crimea. A separate point mentions his initiative to organize a Russian counterpart to the international song contest Eurovision in Crimea, as well as the producer's repeated trips to the peninsula. The list of grounds also includes public statements in support of Russia and the SVO.

Context: the database covers hundreds of public figures

The War&Sanctions portal contains information on Russian public figures, athletes and show business personalities whom Ukrainian intelligence links to support for Moscow's policies; since the beginning of 2022, the relevant section has collected information on more than 450 people. Earlier, Nikolai Baskov, Natasha Koroleva, Sergei Glushko (Tarzan), rappers Timati and Macan, and singer SHAMAN (Yaroslav Dronov) were included in a similar list, and Life.ru previously reported the addition of Larisa Dolina, Stas Mikhailov and Diana Gurtskaya — Mikhailov, in particular, was cited for his participation in Putin's presidential campaigns as a trusted representative. Thus, the addition of Prigozhin expands an already existing list rather than opening a new practice by the GUR.
