The key facts

  • In the Khatyrchi district, 33 children were carried in a Damas belonging to an educational organization of a private school, beyond the permitted limits.
  • In the second case, the driver and the head of the camp, who had previously violated the same rules, were stopped.
  • The head of the camp tried to prevent the drafting of a protocol.

What happened

Cases of children being transported in vehicles exceeding established limits have been identified in the Navoi region, Kun.uz reports. The largest case was recorded in the Khatyrchi district: a Damas minibus belonging to an educational organization affiliated with a private school was carrying 33 children beyond the permitted limits.

The second case and the response

In another episode, a Damas driver was stopped who, besides himself, was carrying 14 children, along with the head of the camp (bogcha-mudar). According to available information, both the woman and her driver had previously committed the same violation: a protocol was drawn up against them and a written explanation was taken. In addition, this time the head of the camp tried to interfere with the drafting of the protocol. Information about the identified cases was published on the Telegram channel of the Navoi Region Police Department.

What is known and what is not yet known

The publications do not specify what measures were ultimately taken — whether the cases were limited to protocols and written explanations or whether more serious sanctions followed — nor do they name those detained or give the exact date of the detentions. There is also no information about the condition of the children. Given that the violations were repeated in both cases, the question of how educational organizations oversee the transportation of their pupils remains open — however, the sources do not yet draw conclusions about the responsibility of specific individuals.
