The key facts
- Mikhailov performed at the Kremlin Palace and recalled that he once did not expect to perform on that stage
- A producer demanded he change his faith in exchange for help — the singer refused and went his own way
- Earlier he stated that a wife cannot be an artist's producer, and spoke about selling overseas real estate
The words that spurred him on
After performing at the Kremlin Palace, singer Stas Mikhailov recalled that at one time he did not even expect to ever perform on that stage. His words are reported by kp.ru. According to the artist, one of his acquaintances once told him: 'You will never sing here!' — but those words only spurred him on.
Despair and refusing a producer's condition
Mikhailov admitted that at the beginning of his career there were moments of despair when he wanted to quit everything: 'it seemed there were no prospects at all.' In his words, looking back and realizing how far he had already come, he moved forward. The strength not to give up, the singer noted, was given to him by his parents' upbringing.
The condition he refused
Mikhailov called a conversation with a producer one of the most difficult episodes of the start of his career. 'He asks: Are you Orthodox? I nod. And he snaps: 'If you don't change your faith, I won't help you!',' the performer recalled. The singer did not accept this condition and decided to make his way on his own, understanding that the path to success would be long.
What the singer said earlier
This is not the artist's first recent public statement. In October he stated that the wife of a creative person cannot become his producer, since in such a situation the artist's freedom would be limited: he noted that he could not have taken his wife Inna Mikhailova as his producer. In addition, Mikhailov previously spoke about selling his overseas real estate, citing the words of the president, who told him: 'Come back.'
