New appointment at the Ministry of Internal Affairs

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution appointing Mirmansur Mirhamidov, son of Mirshahid, as First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs — Head of the Operative-Investigative Department, his press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported. This was written about by Gazeta.uz and UzNews.uz. In the new post, Mirhamidov replaced Botir Kudratkhodjaev, whom the president on 12 October appointed Minister of Defence.

The career path of the new first deputy minister

Before the appointment, Mirhamidov served as first deputy head of the same Operative-Investigative Department — he was listed in this capacity in the president's August decree awarding servicemen and law enforcement officers on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. By a decree of 22 August, he was also awarded the Jasorat medal (“Courage”).

Who held the post before him

Kudratkhodjaev had held the post of First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs — Head of the Operative-Investigative Department since 28 January 2026, when he was transferred to it from the post of Minister of Emergency Situations. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been headed by Aziz Tashpulatov since March 2025. Thus, in 2026 the post has already changed hands twice: first Kudratkhodjaev moved from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and now his former deputy has taken his place.
