The key facts
- Peskov: “There is no date yet” — the exact day of the talks in Abu Dhabi has not been determined
- The format is trilateral, without European representatives at the initial stage
- Ushakov earlier named a reference point — after November 4, a meeting at the expert level
The date of the meeting in Abu Dhabi remains unagreed
The exact date of the trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi has not yet been determined. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, answering journalists' questions: “No. There is no date yet.” The report was published by Life.ru.
What is known about the format and timing
Despite the absence of a specific day, the parameters of the meeting have already been outlined. Peskov confirmed the trilateral format: the participation of European representatives is not envisaged at the initial stage, although the Kremlin does not rule out their involvement in further discussions. The aide to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, earlier allowed for a new round to be held in the first half of November and clarified that it would take place at the expert level. According to him, the composition of the Russian delegation will be determined by Vladimir Putin, and one of the main topics will be issues of the security of Russia and Ukraine after the end of the conflict. On October 25, Ushakov indicated a time reference: Russia is ready to resume talks after November 4, when the country will mark National Unity Day.
Discrepancy in timing
Thus, there is a discrepancy in the public statements of Russian representatives: Ushakov named the first half of November and the reference point “after November 4,” whereas Peskov later stated that a specific date has not yet been agreed. This means that the meeting remains planned in terms of format and substance, but its holding is not yet tied to a specific day.
