Uzbekistan among the fastest-growing economies
The Voronoi platform has published an infographic prepared by Anish Anand with forecasts for the countries expected to see the highest economic growth rates in 2026. The list consists mostly of Asian and African states, and among the Asian countries, alongside Taiwan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam and Uzbekistan are noted. As Kun.uz reports, the source of the data is IMF forecasts.
Forecasts for the global economy and the leaders
According to the IMF forecast, by the end of 2026 the global economy is expected to grow by 3.1%. Growth is projected despite geopolitical instability, shocks in the energy sector and rising uncertainty. The leader of the list is Guyana, where real GDP growth is forecast at 22.3% — such a high figure is primarily linked to the expansion of the country's oil sector. Taiwan's economy is forecast to grow by 10.7%; the supporting factors cited are the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies and growing demand for tech products. In Africa, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Rwanda stand out among the countries with high expected growth.
These are forecasts, not final results
The figures given are forecasts for 2026, not confirmed final results. The publication does not name a specific GDP growth figure for Uzbekistan itself — only its presence in the list is indicated. The editorial board notes: a country's inclusion in such a list based on IMF data signals that international organizations expect growth in Uzbekistan above the global average of 3.1%, but the exact figure and any revisions during the year should be tracked in subsequent IMF publications.
