Surgeons Save Teenager After Training Injury

Surgeons at the Ramenskoye Hospital in Moscow Region provided assistance to an underage athlete with a severe genital injury, the Moscow Region Ministry of Health reports. The teenager was injured during a martial arts training session and, according to the agency, endured the pain for almost two days before being taken to the hospital with acute pain and swelling.

Course of the Surgery

The decision was made to perform a surgical intervention. “We diagnosed a complete rupture of the testicular capsule. A huge hematoma and swelling were compressing all the vessels. Under general anesthesia, we removed the hematoma and sutured the ruptured testicular capsule,” said Vladimir Khabalov, head of the pediatric surgery department at the Ramenskoye Hospital.

Patient's Condition

After the surgery, the teenager remained under medical observation, and on the fifth day he was discharged for outpatient treatment.
