Attack on garbage collection vehicles

Ukrainian drones attacked a fleet of garbage collection vehicles in the city of Antratsyt in the Lugansk People's Republic. Rodion Miroshnik, ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, reported this in his Telegram channel. The diplomat drew attention to the civilian purpose of the damaged vehicles and ironically suggested that the drone operators may have mistaken the municipal machines for tanks.

Quote from the diplomat

“In Antratsyt in the LNR, Ukrainian drones attacked a fleet of garbage collection trucks. I have not the slightest doubt that they mistook them for tanks, rather than wanting the city to be littered and diseases to spread,” Miroshnik wrote.

Context: strikes on St. Petersburg and the region

It was previously reported that St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast experienced one of the largest Ukrainian drone raids of the past four years. According to Rodion Miroshnik, one civilian was killed and 15 more people were wounded in the attack. In St. Petersburg, 12 apartment buildings and two private houses were damaged. Five people were injured in the city itself and ten in Leningrad Oblast. Among the wounded was a resident of Vsevolozhsk with three children, who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning during a fire after the UAV strike.
