Weekly forecast
Until the end of the current week, the weather in the Moscow region will be shaped by an area of high atmospheric pressure. Against this background, the likelihood of precipitation will decrease, Tatyana Pozdnyakova, lead specialist at the Meteonovosti news agency, told RT. The exception, according to her, will be Friday, October 23: on that day light rain is expected, occurring mainly at night.
Temperature and wind
Air temperatures will remain positive. At night in the capital, +3…+6 °C is forecast, and +1…+6 °C in the region. During the day, the air in Moscow will warm up to +10…+12 °C, and the light wind will shift to a southeasterly direction, the meteorologist concluded.
Winter context
It was previously reported that in winter the temperature in Moscow and throughout Central Russia may be above the climate norm: the climate norm for the average winter temperature in the capital is −4…−6 °C. According to forecasts by climatologists, next winter a temperature close to or above the climate norm can be expected in this region. Meteorologists note, however, that this does not mean consistently mild weather throughout all three months. It was also previously explained by a meteorologist whether El Niño will affect the weather in the Russian Arctic.
