Growth in demand for Chinese motor homes
Demand for double-decker motor homes made in China in Russia grew by 300% over the year. Experts told the Telegram channel Baza about this. According to them, the hype around 'apartments on wheels' is driven by the growing popularity of domestic tourism. Buyers choose mobile housing to save on hotels, plan routes on their own, and not depend on flights, which, according to experts, are often rescheduled.
Supply and prices
Over the past two years, Chinese manufacturers have significantly increased camper production, directing a significant share of their output to export, including to Russia. Domestic buyers currently have more than 50 models available for order. The main advantage remains the price: in the budget segment, Chinese motor homes cost from 2 to 5 million rubles, whereas similar European models cost at least 6–7 million rubles. More expensive European campers can cost from 10 to 15 million rubles and above, and in some cases the difference reaches threefold. Premium-class motor homes can start at 50 million rubles.
Reasons for interest
Experts link interest in mobile housing to the development of automobile tourism: the ability to choose stopping places independently allows travelers to depend less on hotel infrastructure and airline schedules.
