Attacks across six districts
Israeli forces on Monday carried out airstrikes, drone attacks and artillery shelling across southern Lebanon, and also conducted two demolition blasts, Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) reported. According to the agency, the attacks affected six districts in the Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun and Tyre areas.
Details of the strikes
Israeli aircraft struck Wadi al-Hujayr; a quadcopter fired a projectile at the roof of a previously hit building in the al-Rajm area in Mayfadoun, whose surroundings had also been subjected to periodic shelling. In the Bint Jbeil district, artillery shelled the town of Haddatha. To the east, aircraft carried out two waves of strikes near Tallouseh in the Marjayoun district, and troops conducted two powerful demolition blasts in the neighboring town of Kantara — NNA did not specify which targets were affected. In the Tyre district, artillery shelled the town of Mansouri and the surrounding valley. No casualties were reported immediately.
Context
According to NNA, Israel has been carrying out attacks on Lebanon since March 2: thousands of people have been killed and wounded, and more than 1.5 million residents have been displaced. On June 26, Lebanon and Israel signed a US-sponsored framework agreement providing for the phased withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory, the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of Hezbollah. Despite the agreement, Israel continued attacks on southern Lebanon and continues to hold Lebanese territories — both those held for decades and those seized during recent wars and operations.
