Winter without unscheduled outages

Uzbekistan does not expect disruptions to electricity supply this winter, except for scheduled outages during repair works. This was announced on October 14 by a representative of the Ministry of Energy at a press conference, as reported by Spot.uz.

Why scheduled outages are needed

According to the ministry's representative, scheduled repairs are necessary for the modernization and renewal of outdated systems. During the works, high-voltage lines are temporarily de-energized for safety reasons, which is why the supply of electricity to consumers is suspended. Residents are warned about such outages in advance. 'Otherwise, preparations for the autumn-winter season are going well now, and, God willing, no disruptions to electricity supply are expected apart from scheduled outages,' the publication quotes the representative of the Ministry of Energy as saying.

Complaints about electricity supply have decreased

In 2025, complaints about power outages in Uzbekistan halved. In total, the Ministry of Energy received 108.3 thousand appeals — a third fewer than a year earlier. For the first time, complaints about gas supply problems outnumbered those about electricity supply disruptions: 45% versus 41%.

Structure of appeals

Appeals regarding electricity decreased by 40% — to 44 thousand. The most frequent topic was the construction and repair of power line poles and transformers — 17.4 thousand appeals (down 35.8%). Cases of electricity supply disruptions dropped to second place — 14 thousand (down 49.7%). Earlier, Spot reported that Uzbekistan will develop a National Energy Master Plan up to 2050.
