Complaints from residents of five districts
Veolia Energy Tashkent reported that it has received complaints from residents of five Tashkent districts — Mirabad, Yakkasaray, Shaykhantahur, Chilanzar and Yunusabad — regarding a foreign chemical smell in the hot water. According to the operator, network water is supplied to these districts by an external supplier — JSC Tashkent CHP — while Veolia Energy Tashkent is responsible for the transportation and distribution of thermal energy and hot water up to the basement premises of residential buildings.
Sample collection and analyses
After the complaints were received, specialists from the company's accredited laboratory went to the sites and took water samples both at the sources and directly in residents' apartments. The samples have been sent for chemical-bacteriological and organoleptic analyses. The results of the inspection are promised to be announced upon completion of the studies.
Supplier's measures and apologies
Data on the quality of the network water has been passed to JSC Tashkent CHP for normalization of the technological process and urgent measures to flush the main networks. Veolia Energy Tashkent assured that the situation is under constant monitoring and, together with the supplier, all necessary measures are being taken to restore the quality of the water supply as soon as possible. The company apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused.
