Rates on the market continue to decline
According to Spot.uz, rates on sum deposits have declined noticeably over the past year. In February 2025 the maximum rate reached 26% per annum, in April after a decline — 23%, by January 2026 — 22%. In spring 2026 rates recovered somewhat: in April the maximum yield reached 23.5%, in August — 23%. The mass-market level also declined: while in August 2025 most banks offered 20–21% per annum, in August 2026 the bulk of offers were in the 18–20% range. The gap between the maximum and mass-market rate has narrowed.
Five offers with high rates
Spot.uz highlighted the five most advantageous deposits in the national currency for October 2026. ANOR BANK offers 22% per annum for 3 months (minimum 1 million sums, no top-ups or withdrawals, early closure rate 16%, maximum 500 million sums, online opening). Tayanchbank — 21% for 24 months (minimum 100 thousand sums, top-ups online from 1,000 sums and offline from 100 thousand, withdrawals with a minimum balance of 100 thousand, early closure rate 16%, maximum 200 million sums). AVO bank — 20.5–22% for 12 months (minimum 1,000 sums, top-ups and withdrawals available, interest capitalization, early closure rate 20.5%). POYTAXT BANK — 20% for 24 months (minimum 1 million sums, no top-ups or withdrawals, maximum 1 billion sums; early closure: up to 6 months — 0%, up to 12 months — 10%, up to 18 months — 15%, over 18 months — 20%). Garant Bank — 20% for 555 days (minimum 10 thousand sums, top-ups during the first 333 days, no withdrawals, early closure rate 20%).
Why banks offer high rates
According to the publication, a high rate may indicate that a bank needs to attract customer funds more actively; the rate is also affected by competition between banks and the situation on the financial market. Elevated yields may come with restrictions on withdrawals or top-ups, and upon early closure the bank may recalculate interest at a reduced rate. At the same time, the rates in the review cannot be called abnormally high: in themselves they do not indicate financial problems at a bank, although in some cases banks with difficulties attracting funds may offer higher rates. The highest rates on the market are 20–22% per annum — 2–3 percentage points above the average level. Among such offers, deposits of a year or longer are more common.
Capitalization and early closure
The stated rate and the actual yield may differ. With regular monthly payment of interest to a separate account, it does not increase the deposit amount. Capitalization allows interest to be automatically added to the deposit, increasing the final yield: among the offers reviewed, it is available only at AVO Bank, where with a base rate of 20.05% per annum the final yield can reach 22%. A similar effect can also be achieved independently by returning paid interest to the deposit, if the terms allow top-ups. Early closure terms are a key parameter: at POYTAXT BANK, closing within the first six months yields a rate of 0%, reaching 20% only after 18 months; at Tayanchbank and ANOR BANK it drops to 16%; at Garant Bank it remains at 20%, at AVO Bank — at 20.5%. The greater the difference between the main and early-closure rate, the greater the potential loss of income.
