Launch of Dual Education

The Center of Islamic Civilization and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan have launched a dual education track aimed at training students directly within the working process. Under the cooperation, special attention will be paid to developing the professional skills of future journalists and training journalist-guides. The initiative is being implemented in line with the 'enterprise — university — target personnel' principle put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting with educators on September 30, 2026, when he emphasized the importance of developing dual education in higher education and strengthening cooperation between universities and employers.

Meeting Held as Part of the Initiative

The meeting organized within the framework of this initiative was attended by the head of the Center of Islamic Civilization Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the university rector Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja, faculty members and students. The participants discussed reinforcing students' knowledge through practical activity and covering the Center's scientific and educational heritage through modern media.

Position of the Center's Leadership

Firdavs Abdukhalikov noted the importance of combining education and practice, raising the professional potential of young people, and promoting national heritage through modern media. According to him, foreign experts are planned to be engaged for students, giving them the opportunity to become familiar with international experience and advanced approaches in the media sphere. He also emphasized that journalists should not merely convey information but, relying on reliable sources, present the substance of historical events in a form understandable to different audiences.

Training of Journalist-Guides

Special attention at the meeting was given to the training of journalist-guides. Since the Center is visited by scholars, researchers, journalists and tourists from various countries, future specialists must possess historical knowledge, journalistic skill, a culture of communication and knowledge of foreign languages.

Rector's View

Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja emphasized that dual education is important for improving the professional training of future journalists. According to her, a modern journalist, in addition to writing texts, needs data analysis, fact-checking, content production in various formats and effective communication with the audience. She said that cooperation with the Center will allow students to prepare materials on history, science, culture and spiritual heritage, conduct interviews and create reports, and she assessed the journalist-guide training initiative as one of the promising directions.

Expected Outcomes

The cooperation is expected to introduce students to a real professional environment, increase their practical experience, and bring the scientific and educational heritage of the Center of Islamic Civilization to a wider audience through modern media formats.
