Circumstances of the Accident
The road traffic accident occurred on October 12 in the Furkat district of Fergana Region, the regional road traffic safety service reported. The BMW was traveling at a speed of more than 100 km/h. On a sharp turn, the driver lost control: the car first hit a signal pole, then a concrete barrier and a tree, after which it flipped over. According to the Kun.uz publication, citing Elbek Kobilov, head of the information service of the regional Road Traffic Safety Department (UOBDD), the car also collided with a wire fence.
The Deceased and the Survivor
As a result of the accident, the 28-year-old BMW driver died. The passenger who was in the car said that, at the first impact with the obstacle, he was thrown out through the windshield. "I open my eyes, I get up — dust all around. I walked over to the driver, his whole body was as if wrapped in a bottle, I checked his pulse — there was no pulse. The end of speed is death. Just blink your eyes, and that's it," the surviving passenger recounted.
Information About the Driver
According to the UOBDD, the deceased did not have a driver's license. The publications differ on details of his past: Gazeta.uz reported that the man had previously been held administratively liable for violations, while Kun.uz, citing the UOBDD, specified that the driver had been warned about the inadmissibility of driving a vehicle and lawful measures had been applied to him for violating traffic rules, yet he got behind the wheel again.
