Murder investigation launched in Leeds after attack on 38-year-old man

A murder investigation has been launched in Leeds after a 38-year-old man died following an attack by a group of armed people. According to West Yorkshire Police, the incident took place at around 22:25 BST on Saturday outside a house on Headley Chase in the New Wortley area. Police and paramedics attended the address and gave the man treatment, but a short time later he was pronounced dead. Citing Detective Chief Inspector Dan Bates, BBC News reports that, according to initial findings, four armed people carried out a 'sustained attack' on the victim.

Detective Inspector Dan Bates of West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said officers were working 'extremely hard' to identify those involved. According to him, significant resources have been committed to the investigation in order to provide answers to the victim's family and ensure those responsible are brought to justice. He described the incident as a 'targeted and isolated' attack and appealed to the public to report any information about those involved. The victim's family is being supported by specially trained officers, and investigative work is continuing at the scene, BBC News reports.
