Cleveland tops AFC North on the final play
Andre Szmyt's 37-yard field goal on the final play gave Cleveland a 13-10 win over Baltimore and its first lead in the AFC North this late in a season since 2014. Minutes earlier, Szmyt missed from 48 yards. Both teams are 4-2, but the Browns are higher on tiebreakers. The Ravens played without injured quarterback Lamar Jackson, and against Cleveland head coach Todd Monken, who spent three seasons as offensive coordinator in Baltimore. Tyler Huntley opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown pass to Josh Cuevas, and Tyler Loop added a 34-yard field goal — 10-0 at halftime. Without leading rusher Quinshon Judkins (ankle injury), Cleveland rallied thanks to Szmyt's 48-yard field goal and a two-yard touchdown run by Audric Estime with 8:33 left.
Houston snatches victory in London
Ka'imi Fairbairn hit a 49-yard field goal on the final play, and Houston beat Jacksonville 34-31. C.J. Stroud completed 24 of 34 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns, improving the Texans to 2-4 against the Jaguars' 4-2. 'We played well on offense and took the win — we'll be happy on the way home,' Stroud said. Trevor Lawrence, in defeat, threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns. Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter had an interception, three tackles, plus four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown — the first player since 2002 with an interception and a touchdown catch in the same game.
Pittsburgh wins in overtime, Buffalo holds off Las Vegas
Aaron Rodgers threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Bernard in overtime, giving Pittsburgh a 26-19 win over Tampa Bay. Rodgers threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, and the Steelers moved level with Cleveland and Baltimore at 4-2. Josh Allen (23 of 33, 255 yards, two touchdowns) helped Buffalo hold off the Raiders 33-30 and keep the lead in the AFC East (5-1). In the second quarter, C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected for spitting at a Las Vegas player, allowing the opponent to tie it at 13-13 by halftime. A 12-yard 'shot put'-style pass to Keon Coleman with 6:22 left tied Allen with Jim Kelly for most touchdown passes in Bills history. After the ensuing tie, Allen drove 66 yards for a James Cook touchdown, and Tyler Bass added a 38-yard field goal. Kirk Cousins cut the deficit with a 44-yard pass to Tre Tucker, but the Raiders could not recover the onside kick.
Injury in Atlanta and the rest of the results
Caleb Williams, who missed three games with a patellar tendon injury, returned going 30 of 36 for 305 yards and a touchdown, and D'Andre Swift scored twice in Chicago's 31-23 win over Atlanta. 'It's great to be back,' Williams said. 'After all those weeks the emotions overwhelmed me, then I regained my calm and control for the guys.' Falcons offensive lineman Kenndal Daniels suffered a serious injury while tackling Bears tight end Colston Loveland — his facemask struck the opponent's knee. He was attended to on the field for several minutes, then carried off on a stretcher with a neck brace and taken to a hospital; the team said he was conscious and moving all his limbs. Drake Maye (235 yards, three touchdowns) led New England to a 26-19 win over the New York Jets. Joey Slye hit field goals of 44 and 49 yards in the final 2:03, and previously winless Tennessee won in Indianapolis 26-20. Tyler Shough (144 yards, three touchdowns) led New Orleans to a 34-27 win over the Giants, and Bryce Young (281 yards, two touchdowns) led Carolina to a 25-14 win in Philadelphia.
Kansas City stays unbeaten
Patrick Mahomes completed 23 of 30 passes for 272 yards, Kenneth Walker rushed for 128 yards with two touchdowns, and Kansas City (5-0) routed the winless Los Angeles Chargers 22-6. The other two unbeaten teams were idle: Minnesota (5-0) had the week off, and San Francisco (5-0) played Washington on Monday. Chad Ryland made his sixth field goal, a 43-yarder on the final play, giving visiting Arizona an upset 18-16 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
