Strike on residential building and other districts

According to DW, cited by Kun.uz, a missile hit a nine-story residential building in the Desnianskyi district in northeastern Kyiv; a fire broke out in apartments on the lower eight floors. City Mayor Vitali Klitschko said 16 victims were hospitalized, four of them in serious condition. According to him, in the Solomianskyi district a drone hit an office building, in the Dniprovskyi district drone debris fell on the grounds of a stadium, and in the Desnianskyi district a warehouse caught fire.

Zelensky's statements

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said the target of the strike was one of Kyiv's main energy facilities — CHPP-4, and that the strike occurred against the backdrop of the energy truce announced by Donald Trump. According to him, partners did not warn Ukraine about Russia's launch of ballistic missiles; he called it unfair that warnings about launches are not received while energy facilities are being destroyed. Zelensky also stressed the importance of the United States seeing responsibility for the continuation of the war and, citing Ukrainian intelligence data, reported that Russia is preparing new ballistic missile strikes.

Trump's and Moscow's position

Donald Trump, speaking to journalists in Washington, refuted reports that the United States had stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine: "We are helping them and exchanging intelligence." He added that the US is working with Ukraine and Russia to end the war. Earlier, Trump expressed the view that Vladimir Putin shows greater interest in a peace agreement than Zelensky, and when asked about violations of the energy truce, replied that "there were violations on both sides." Russia's Defense Ministry, for its part, stated that the strikes on Kyiv targeted military-industrial enterprises and logistics centers, including a drone production workshop and a locomotive depot.
