Circumstances of the accident

The road traffic accident occurred on October 9, 2026, at around 13:00, on the 14th kilometer of the 4K-560 highway on the territory of the 'Mirkon' mahalla of the Paxtachi district of Samarkand region. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Samarkand region.

Preliminary version

According to preliminary data, the driver of a Cobalt car, traveling on the Mirkon – Misit route, attempted to avoid hitting a cyclist who suddenly rode out from the right side of the road and turned the steering wheel to the left. The car crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with an e-scooter that was moving along the left edge of the carriageway of its own lane.

Fatalities and injured

One of the people on the e-scooter died at the scene. The scooter driver and another passenger were hospitalized. Despite the medical care provided, the second victim later died in hospital. Thus, two people who were on the e-scooter died.

Investigation

Regarding the accident, a criminal case has been opened by the Investigation Department of the Paxtachi district internal affairs department; initial investigative actions are being carried out.
