On May 9, 2026, Jabborov came to watch a national wrestling competition in the Yangiarik mahalla of Denov district. In the tournament, his brother Bostonbek Jabborov wrestled against Chotboyev's son, Ayubkhon Khurramov. Jabborov's brother lost the bout. Angry, Jabborov left the competition venue. In court, Jabborov admitted his guilt, stating that he did not remember how many times he stabbed, and asked for leniency. According to him, everything happened in a fit of rage: 'I cannot remember how many times I struck with the knife. At that moment no one could approach me, everyone stood in fear two meters away. I was very angry. Then I threw the knife and pushed Chotboyev away to keep my distance from him. He raised his head and hit me on the left cheek with his head. From the blow I went deaf and quickly stepped back, ran away from him,' his testimony reads. Ayubkhon Khurramov told the court that he saw his father being stabbed to death before his eyes and experienced great suffering. He asked that the defendant be sentenced to life imprisonment.
