Massive use of drones in the exercise
About 500 drones were simultaneously in the air during the strategic exercise Center-2026. This was announced by Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Army General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov on the air of Zvezdanews. According to him, the military practiced drone confrontation and the cover of assault units.
Organization of UAV use
Airplane-type and copter-type drones were used for the exercise. They were divided into two groups, marking the conditional enemy and Russian units with different colors — this is how the fight for control of airspace at low altitudes was practiced.
Tasks of the maneuvers
During the maneuvers, FPV interceptors were used to fight other drones. At the same time, strike drone crews practiced hitting vehicles, fortified positions, and personnel of the conditional enemy. The main task, according to the deputy minister, was to ensure the advance of assault groups and protect them from air attacks.
March-throw to Khamkorlik-2026
Earlier, Russian servicemen covered more than 300 kilometers along the mountain roads of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to participate in the joint tactical exercise Khamkorlik-2026. A column of equipment reached the Termez training ground, where preparation for the maneuvers began. The contingent included soldiers of the 201st Guards Military Base of the Central Military District; the route passed through high-mountain passes and narrow sections of serpentine roads.
