A rare family photo
Figure skater Elena Ilinykh posted on Instagram (the owner company Meta has been recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) rare shots from a walk around Moscow. In the photos, ballet artist Sergei Polunin poses with his seven-month-old daughter Runa, having placed her on his shoulder. “Why are you two so alike?” the champion joked in the caption to the pictures.
Four children
The couple has four children together. Their firstborn Mir was born in 2020, son Dar arrived in 2022, and in 2024 Ilinykh gave birth to her third boy — Era. The figure skater said in an interview that she had dreamed of a daughter even after the birth of her first son, and in 2026 that wish came true. Polunin announced Runa's birth to his followers on social media on March 8.
About the relationship
Polunin proposed to Ilinykh in May 2022. The athlete noted that she agreed to become his wife without hesitation, but the couple only had their wedding in 2024, after the birth of their third child. In an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, the dancer admitted that he had wanted to name his firstborn Adolf, since he believed that “someone at some point must cleanse this powerful name.” Ilinykh, according to him, managed to talk him out of the idea, convincing him not to place such a mission on the boy.
