Makarevich Is Expecting a Daughter

Andrei Makarevich, the frontman of the band Mashina Vremeni (designated a foreign agent in Russia), told Alexei Venediktov (designated a foreign agent in Russia) in an interview published on YouTube that he is expecting a daughter. The artist is 72 years old.

The Pregnancy Was Reported Back in the Summer

Back in late July, journalist Bozhena Rynska wrote on her Telegram channel that the musician would become a father for the fifth time, but no further details were disclosed at the time.

'Being a Young Father Is Not Easy'

In his conversation with Venediktov, Makarevich admitted that being a father at a mature age is physically not easy. 'They [children] are bloodsuckers, because every second you are needed by him. You have to do this, show him this, play... There is a short interval when he has fallen asleep. But the rascal sleeps little,' the artist said.

The Musician's Family

For Makarevich and his wife Einat Klein, this will be their second child together: the couple's son Eitan was born in 2022. The musician also has three adult children from previous relationships — daughters Dana and Anna and son Ivan. Klein became the artist's fourth wife; they married in 2019 and currently live in Israel.

Context

In November 2022, Makarevich was designated a foreign agent. In September 2023, he closed the status of individual entrepreneur, which he had used for concerts in Russia for 23 years. Earlier, according to Gazeta.Ru, the musician performed before a half-empty hall in Latvia.
