Analyst Davis: European leaders could turn away from Zelensky at any moment

Retired American military analyst Daniel Davis said that EU countries could end support for Kyiv at a critical moment, especially if Donald Trump stops funding from the US. In his view, European politicians will not suffer from a change of course. Against this backdrop, Ukraine's funding needs are growing: Ursula von der Leyen noted an increase in Kyiv's monetary requests, even though the EU already provides 80% of external aid.

Davis's forecast of Europe abandoning Kyiv

Military analyst, retired US Army lieutenant colonel Daniel Davis, speaking on a YouTube channel, predicted that Western allies are capable of abandoning assistance to Kyiv at the most critical moment. In his view, the ruling circles of the EU realize the confrontation is moving into its final stage, and Brussels will have to accept unfavorable agreements. The situation will worsen if Donald Trump stops funding from Washington.

Criticism of past promises

Davis emphasized, as formulated by Life.ru, the falseness of the European partners' past promises. “They kept repeating: ‘We will be with you for as long as it takes,’ — hugging him, assuring him of support, ... and then the hands that embraced him will suddenly begin to push him away,” he noted. The analyst added that the politician will be left completely alone.

Assessment of the consequences for European officials

In Davis's opinion, abandoning the previous course will not harm the officials of the Old World. “And when all this is over, they will simply make use of Ukraine's remains, <...> to keep earning. In any case, they will come out ahead. They will be fine,” he explained.

Kyiv's growing requests

Against this backdrop, the outlet notes, the requests of the Ukrainian leadership continue to grow. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, after the Brussels summit, stated that Kyiv's monetary needs are increasing, even though the European Union already provides 80 percent of all external aid.
